Red LEGO Suzanne

1

Howdy, readers.

Welcome back! I’ve have found yet another Suzanne for a total of four for me this month. Four Suzannes. (Hey John, I’m winning! 🙂 ) Well, this one looks to be among the coolest, because she’s a LEGO Suzanne. Perhaps it’s even as cool as John’s last one, which, by the way, is still stuck in that ice block. And now it’s fall! Oh dear. Anyway, I’m getting off topic. Here is the red LEGO Suzanne:

Nice and shiny like a brand new car! Yeah … a LEGO car!

I was having some fun with Blender’s remesh modifier, and figured if I scaled the mesh correctly, applied the modifier, selected the faces which were pointing upward & separated them from the main mesh, modeled a LEGO stud & used duplifaces to add a whole bunch of ’em on the upward-pointing faces, and added it all back together, I could get something that looked quite close to an actual LEGO model without having to do any building. All in all, I took the lazy man’s route, but it came out a lot closer to how Suzanne actually looks than if I had simply tried to build it by hand.

Well, thanks for reading! Leave requests for any more Suzannes in the comment section. There’s only a about a week until September’s over, so let’s finish this monkey month off with a bang!
