Shorter and More Frequent Posts

Ah, posting frequency. My good old frenemy.

Fact of the matter is, I don’t write here nearly enough, and that ought to change. Sure, Dr. Garlic posts happen pretty often, but personal posts? Let’s see… nothing since my visit to the LEGO store in May. Bad, bad, bad.

A couple months ago, a friend told meΒ I should write more on here, but for some confounding reason I thought it necessary to pour all my experiences of the past months into a single post. Bad idea. That post is still unfinished (no surprise there) and while it has some good stuff, it has not accomplished what I had hoped it would: getting a new Peter-related post on my blog.

That post actually started out as an eighteenth birthday post, but the writing dragged on and on and on and on and on … you get the idea. Obviously it’s kind of late to post about my eighteenth birthday now.

I’ve decided I need to take a new/old approach here. I had been reading some of my ancient posts, and what struck me was their brevity, and the memory of how much fun I’d had writing them. Good times.

A mosaic picture, just because. :-)
A mosaic close-up, just because.

I guess I just realized how much I was missing the whole “Peter’s journal” thing I had going on before. My thinking is that if posts take less time to write, I’ll probably end up posting more by default.

Anyway, that’s pretty much what I’d like to capture with future posts here. I suppose you could say I’ve struck up a deal (with myself). If all goes well, I’ll be writing fun little posts on a weekly basis from now on!

Keep in mind that this isn’t going to affect Dr. Garlic news. In fact, such posts will soon have their own separate home on my website, just as soon as I finish the site update I’ve got in the works. πŸ˜‰

Anyway, this has been Peter’s Blog – check back next week for some random happenings!

P.S. First one to figure out how many times I used the word “post” (or “posts”, “posting”, etc.) in this post and post the answer in a comment is the winner!

I think you used the word ‘post’ twenty times in the text of the post, but this does not include the title. I just used command-F. Oldie but a goodie. Hopefully I’m the winner! What do I win?

    • Congratulations, Harry! You win a brand-new … uh … well, I could give you a … no, wait. Well, this is embarrassing. I guess I didn’t think that far ahead!

Wait! on second thought, here’s a Get Out of Davy Crockett’s Locker Free card, just in case you ever end up there by accident. πŸ˜‰
